President of South Korea Lee Myung-bak calls for ways to better support people with disabilities | Print |

Apr 18: President Lee Myung-bak has called on Koreans to do away with negative and ignorant stereotypes about disabled people.

In his biweekly radio address to the nation Monday morning, the president talked about the government's policies to support disabled people such as pension and nursing services which were extended last year to cover more people with disabilities.

He also expressed disappointment that many Korean businesses are still reluctant to hire disabled people stressing that those with disabilities can do as well as able-bodied people in certain lines of work.
